A place for reflection, discernment, and imagining what’s next.

We offer self-guided and facilitated experiences for inspired time apart.

This is not just a place to stay. It’s a place to slow down, listen, and reorient.

Whether you’re navigating transition or simply needing space to think and be—Vocation House offers a setting designed for rest, inspiration, and creative work.

The Intention

Why Vocation House

We believe that changing our environment awakens imagination, and that clarity and new ideas often emerge on the heels of time away from the everyday. Rhythms of rest and reflection fortify us and offer a needed counter to burnout, anxiety, and restlessness.

Our hope is that your time at Vocation House brings alignment, connection, and renewed presence.

The Offering

Plan Your Experience

No two retreats look alike. At Vocation House, you choose (01) how much guidance you want in your work and (02) how much care you want in your days.

01. Level of Facilitation

  • A fully customized workshop experience. You arrive with a challenge; we design and facilitate everything around it. For those doing meaningful work, needing space to reflect, align, and move forward with intention.

  • We provide a framework—workshop materials, a structured agenda, and light engagement—for small group experiences. Rhythms can include silence and solitude—alone, together—or more energized time for connection and conversation.

  • We can provide workbooks, a suggested daily rhythm, and recommended readings and activities — whatever you need to enjoy the space your own terms.

  • The space is yours. Bring your program, your people, and your process. We provide a beautiful, intentional setting and get out of your way.

02. Level of Hospitality

  • Meals are planned, prepared, and set on the table for you. Your group arrives, gathers, and eats. Nothing to think about but being together.

  • We've done the shopping, the planning, and the prep. A full fridge, a stocked pantry, and simple recipes are waiting. Your group cooks together at your own pace.

  • The property is yours, exactly as it is. Bring your own food and settle in however feels right.

Our Story

The Dake Family

Christian and Haley Dake share a love of wild places, hospitality, and all things green.

Christian, a land designer and steward, is drawn to cultivating beauty and restoration in God’s creation, while Haley, an executive coach to founders and leaders, supports people in discerning vocation, leadership, and personal growth.

Together, they created Vocation House as an expression of their shared vision, a place for rest, reflection, and creative imagination. Their hope is that every person who comes to Spencewood leaves renewed in mind, body, and spirit.
