Personalized Experience
-
“The Spirit speaks to us when our heart is still and silent before the Lord – not when we're rushing about and doing our own thing in our own way."
— Richard Foster, Celebration of DisciplineThe world is loud and complex. We are compelled to optimize and produce. Silence and solitude is an ancient practice that serves as a counterweight to the narratives and pressures of the modern world.
A time of silence and solitude tends to our inner lives. The noise disappears, even the sound of our own talking, and we get to simply be, with no agenda to perform and nothing to prove. In silence, we are refilled, growing in our capacity to hear and pay attention to God’s voice and leading in our lives.
-
Unhurried time to look at your life: your values, your motivations, the work you've been given, and the next step God may be inviting you to move toward.
Guided reflections and activities give you enough structure to ask honest questions and enough space to get to the heart of what needs to be released, healed, or renewed.
You leave with a clearer sense of what matters and a next step.
Examples include: values discovery and articulation, mission statement, guided prayer, etc. -
The gift of time to cultivate and create a vision that’s in your heart: a strategy to shape, a creative work to birth, or a next practical step that needs discernment.
We provide frameworks, creative prompts, materials, instruments, and open space to think and make.
Examples include: writing, songwriting, art, strategic project design, and start-up ideation. -
We live in a beautiful, aching world that God is making new — and grief is an often overlooked and yet unavoidable experience of being human. We need spaces where we can name our grief and trust God’s pattern of restoration, even when rebuilding feels slow or uncertain.
Examples: job loss or transition, change in season or role / identity, etc. -
For couples and small groups seeking to deepen relational trust and intimacy. We provide personal reflection and group conversation guides to connect hearts and minds.
Examples: marriage retreat, collaborative discernment, braintrust group, friends in a shared season, etc.
-
Transition is the reorientation and self-redefinition required to adapt to what has changed in your life. These in-between spaces, from ending to beginning, invite a full range of emotional responses, including a season of feeling less productive than we're used to.
Our modern environment often works against the wisdom of healthy transition. Blurred boundaries between work and home, always-on pressure, and divided attention make it harder to achieve the distance and depth of reflection transition requires. We often rush on to the next thing.
At Vocation House, we believe the liminal space of transition can be beautiful through-passage — a time to re-affirm and expand one’s connection with God and self.
Examples: changing roles and identities, changing jobs / career, a move or relocation, etc
01. Direction
-
Reflection time is individual — journaling, reading, prayer, and quiet processing shaped around your chosen focus (e.g., silence & solitude, inner work, strategic or creative work, or grieving & rebuilding).
-
For married couples, business partners, or any close partnership navigating a season together. Our itineraries encourage individual reflection and guided conversation — around partnership in work and life, marriage, family, transitions, or shared strategy and decisions.
-
For any small group of friends or family. Some of the richest renewal happens "alone together” in the presence of people who know and love you. Space for honest conversation and mutual encouragement. Reflection prompts include individual reflection and guided conversation in pairs, triads, and the full group.
